Snowy/Chewy Valentine

It's another fabulous Top Tip Tuesday!  This week our challenge to you is to show off your valentine creations.
Aren't these a fun!!!  The "snowman" is Eclipse gum. :)  A Stamp Club friend showed me how to make these back in December.  A Pinterest inspired creation, so by default I made something seen on Pinterest.  Whoo-hoo!
I made four of these, so each gal in our room gets one for Valentine's Day.  I wanted each one to look a little different, but I don't know which one should go to which gal!
I think I may put them all on the table and have to gals decide who gets which. :)  Profile in courage, I am. LOL!
All the wonderful embellies came from this Paper Bakery kit.  They have the most delicious kits!!!!!
Then I just had to make one more (these are addictive!) that seemed like a romantic one.  I used it as a thank you for a gal who made a purchase from my Etsy store. :)

Fit to Print

Playing around with card sets again and thought I'd try a different color palette.  Usually I make all the cards the same and each time I tell myself I'm gonna make 'em a touch different.  Well, this time I actually did! :)

Still thinking over these choices.  DH likes them, but I'm still mulling.  All the shapes and texture is fun and I like how they are all different, yet still a set.  So I guess these are okay. :)

Changing it up some more with the packaging of this lil set.  :)  Went with a fry box to "spice it up"- LOL!  Haven't made one of those in a while.  I forgot how much fun they are!  Gonna definitely have to play around making a few more of these.

In the meantime, I'm cooking up fun with these cool folks:

Adore You

I bought this yummy paper and have been staring at it for about two weeks.  Finally I got up the courage to cut it up and I'm so tickled that I did!  Not only can it count towards being a valentine, but I made it using some not-so-traditional colors.  Yeah me for thinking outside the box!
It's BG paper, so I don't want to mess up when I use it 'cause then I feel like I wasted "the good stuff"!  This is even better than the card I had pictured in my head- seriously that NEVER seems to happen.  Gosh if it looks even half as good as what I pictured I'm over the moon most of the time. :)  Even more awesome- this was a 10 minute card- if that!!  From start to finish it was just a matter of cut 'n paste.  A little stamping on the kraft base, glue, die cut, tie a ribbon and D-O-N-E done!
The card base (kraft), ticket die (index card), and stamped trees (birch trees) on the base are all from Memory Box.  The ribbon is Bo Bunny and the pattern paper is Basic Grey (Piccadilly)- the green it is mounted on is the reverse side.  The orange mat for the ticket is Bazzill (I think) and the glittery sentiment paper is actually already on printed paper from My Minds Eye (lost and found).

I'm playing with all these folks that I adore so much:
The Spotted Chick- Krafty Thursday
Basic Grey Challenges- Favorite Things- (mine are dies)
For Your Inspiration- This pic
Well I hope you enjoyed this folks! I've got some fun valentine projects getting posted this week and some more Christmas cards.  So far, so good on my resolution!  How are all of you doing on your resolutions?

No Surprises This Year

This Christmas season will not take me by surprise this year!  That's one of my New Year's Resolutions that, so far, I have been able to keep.  :)
This is the yummy kit that I got this past December.  I was totally in love with the whole package (mostly Crate Paper Peppermint) and totally overwhelmed by the hectic season as well.  Happily I was able to put this kit aside 'til now.  Now let's break into it and see my jumpstart!!!!
The button was part of the embellishments in the package, but the snowflake and heart bling were in my stash.  It's a simple card and I like how cheerful it is in all it's simplicity! :)
My husband's family has a thing for peppermint stick ice cream, so in all likelihood this card will find itself in one of their mailboxes sometime after Thanksgiving. I know, I know how can I possibly think about Christmas when it is January.  Gotta tell ya, it was far too hectic and too few cards made it out this past Christmas.  Still feeling guilty about it.  My DH and I both always write little notes in our cards. Last year folks were lucky to get us both to sign and mail their cards and neither of us enjoyed the process.  Kinda sad when you think that I make cards- and I LIKE making cards.  So this year I'm pacing myself and doing little bits all year and that way can enjoy it all.

Bows of Thanks

Last Friday I mentioned I was spending the night crafting at my LSS.  I actually got some things finished!!!
Here are four thank you cards I assembled.  These are always in short supply in this house.  That's probably a good thing since it means we have a lot to be thankful for. :)
The best part is that all of this was in the scrap pile from other projects and I get "kit club credit" because the mat between the orange card and the pale green mat is from the Nov kit I got at my LSS. *hee-hee*

Well, I'm off to see if I can take more pretty pics to prove to myself got some more projects completed. LOL!

I'm thankful these blogs are offering fun challenges here:

So Sketchy

This week over at Top Tip Tuesday we are hosting a sketch challenge and there are choices!
I chose the CAS sketch.  Not sure I stayed very CAS, but I wanted to use these colors cause I've had the PTI paper and the card base all cut and ready to go for ages!  Pretty excited that I am using some stash, didn't use any of my chipboard letters though.  Back to the drawing board to try again to work on that New Years resolution. :(
Continuing on the good news front, I was able to make 4 cards for 4 different uses!  The dies are a combination of PTI and MFT.  The ribbon?  No idea, sorry. :(  The sentiments are all Amuse and I LOVE how easy they are to use!!!
So seriously, head to TTT and check out the sketches.  Then head to your stash and whip up something awesome!  When you do you can enter it in the TTT two week challenge for a chance to win:

Bakin' Up Goods

Quick post today as I am on my way out the door for a fun class. :)  Working my way through my December Paper Bakery kit- the January one is on its way to my door and I gotta make room!
Sarah posted a fun sketch and I thought I would use it to make a "kinda" guy gift bag.  I can never make enough guy stuff, mostly because I don't make enough guy stuff. LOL!

So how much guy stuff do you have on hand?

I've bagged it in and headed here:

Soft Hello

A subtle palette for today.  Seemed like a good idea since I seem to be recovered from my cold, but don't want to push my luck.  I'm seriously lacking in blank cards to use for thank you's and whatnot.
I pulled out the rest of the stash from my Paper Bakery kit, played around with some Memory Box papers, and voila!  The shabby chic feel of this really tickles me. :)
I've given myself a little challenge to use more of the letters (thinkers and stickers and chipboard) that I have aquired from various kits I am addicited to buying. :)  It's a little like the challenges I give myself to use all the paper in those kits.  I'm sporatic at best, but my LSS has begun hosting once a month 10 hour open workroom time (and they bring in pizza around 7!).  Last November was the first one I could mae it to and I got so much done!  I have so many half-finished projects that I have ready to bring for this Friday.  We'll see how it goes. ;)

So besides deadlines, what helps you get your projects done?

I'm enjoying a quiet moment here:

2011 Revisited

Well, I don't know if my body knew that the Tigers would lose or what, but a couple hours before the Orange Bowl started (man was that a depressing game for all Clemson fans) I came down with a horrific sinus cold.  I managed to make it to school on Thursday for a very important parent meeting first thing in the morning and left right after.  I've pretty much been in bed ever since, cuddling with some Puffs plus tissues and doing the Dayquil or Nyquil cocktails with Airborne chasers.  I'm feeling okay right now so I thought I would do a retrospective of FSD 2011.  So sit back and enjoy the flashback. :)

Hope you enjoyed my little walk down memory lane version 2011.  It was fun to look through the posts to decide which to make that months fav!  A couple of months would have had more than one, but I was trying to exercise discipline.  Some of these creations I had forgotten about!!!
